The Clitoria Ternatea plant is native to Thailand. Its vibrant blue orchid-like blossoms are affectionately named “butterfly pea” and revered for their highly potent antioxidants. The flowers are dried and crushed into a powder that is used medicinally or brewed as a tea. The naturally turquoise tea turns purple due to the change in pH when our mother SCOBY culture and lemongrass are added, creating very magical, completely natural color therapy for your eyes, heart and soul!

Cheese pairing: Our brewer and cheesemaker Sacha loves to pair Clitoria’s Secret with Papillon Roquefort. Roquefort is one of the most iconic French blue cheeses made from sheep milk and aged in the famous Papillon (“butterfly”) caves in France. Ginger has long been one of the most complex and synergistic food & cheese pairings — in Sweden blue cheese is never eaten without gingersnap cookies! The zing of the Roquefort marries with the ginger in such a special way, you will have butterflies dancing on your palate and in your glass!
